Week 3

The holiday season is always a bustling, busy time.  This year has been no exception - especially with the new additions!  The development now each week, even day to day is exciting.  The Pups are now aware of the outside world, Mom and each other.  Play has even begun between them!  It's hard to pare down the videos to a few minutes, but we've tried.  This first video is just of some taken only on Christmas day! 




The day after Christmas, we introduced them to food that didn't come directly from Nellie.  By grinding puppy food to a fine powder and then getting it soupy, we first dip a finger and introduce them.  It took one pup about two licks and into the pan she went.  The others naturally pick up on that and the dove in.  What fun!

Mom, We're hungry!

THEY'RE HERE!!!

After a VERY long whelp, Nellie has 7 surviving Pups!  4 beautiful Females and 3 wonderful males joined the Willowynd family on December 5th, 2012.   Sadly, one lovely female and one male did not survive birth.  They rest in peace surrounded by flowers on the ranch.
 

We thought Nellie was done whelping so we were on our way to the reproductive Vet for a health check.  Lo and behold, Nellie started to whelp. "Hotrod" aka White girl was born on Interstate 50 driving through the rain at 70 mph by our fantastic daughter Sarah in the back of the SUV.

"Honda"  Brown boy - Hotrod's brother was born in the back of the same vehicle sitting in the Vet's parking lot!  New one for us!
